PCPE-1 Antibody (10D9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PCPE-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. PCPE-1 (10D9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PCPE-1 protein, also known as procollagen C-endopeptidase enhancer 1 precursor or Type I procollagen COOH-terminal proteinase enhancer, plays a crucial role in collagen maturation, which is essential for maintaining structural integrity of connective tissues. Specifically, PCPE-1 binds to C-terminal propeptide of Type I procollagen, enhancing procollagen C-proteinase activity in a substrate-specific manner. This interaction significantly stimulates tolloid metalloproteinases during procollagen processing into mature collagen fibrils. PCPE-1 expression is particularly high in tissues rich in type I collagen, such as skin and tendon, highlighting PCPE-1′s importance in tissue repair and regeneration.
