    SEE ALSO...

PCDHA10 Antibody (JH-86) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PCDHA10 protein of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Anti-PCDHA10 antibody (JH-86) is available as a non-conjugated format. Protocadherins, including PCDHA10, play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining neuronal connections in the brain, which is vital for proper neural function and communication. The PCDHA gene cluster, part of a larger family of cadherin-like cell adhesion proteins, generates a diverse array of proteins through alternative promoter usage and cis-alternative splicing. This diversity increases when PCDHA and PCDHG family members form oligomers, expanding the variety of protocadherin proteins at the cell surface. Expression of all three protocadherin gene clusters—PCDHA, PCDHB, and PCDHG—shows significant upregulation during brain development, with PCDHA downregulating following myelination. These clusters maintain expression in critical brain regions such as the olfactory bulb, hippocampus, and cerebellum into adulthood, highlighting their importance in neural connectivity and function. PCDHA10 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, making PCDHA10 a potential target for therapeutic intervention. PCDHA10 produces at least three isoforms through alternative splicing, adding another layer of complexity to functional roles in the nervous system.

Can sc-130462: PCDHA10 (JH-86) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-130462: PCDHA10 (JH-86) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
