PAPSS 1/2 Antibody (A-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PAPSS 1/2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PAPSS 1/2 (A-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PAPSS proteins, which include PAPSS 1 and PAPSS 2, play a crucial role in sulfate assimilation within the sulfur metabolism pathway, acting as bifunctional enzymes that facilitate two key steps in the sulfate activation process. PAPSS 1 is involved in the biosynthesis of sulfated L-selectin ligands in endothelial cells, a process vital for cell adhesion and signaling in the immune response. PAPSS 1 expression is primarily localized in the pancreas, liver, testis, thymus, kidney, prostate, ovary, and small intestine, highlighting its importance in various physiological functions across different tissues. Defects in the PAPSS2 gene can lead to the Pakistani type of spondyloepimetaphyseal dysplasia, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by skeletal abnormalities, underscoring the significance of PAPSS proteins in maintaining normal skeletal development and function.
