PAP-2b Antibody (7H7D3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG antibody that detects PAP-2b protein of human origin by western blotting (WB). Anti-PAP-2b antibody (7H7D3) is available as the non-conjugated format. PAP-2b protein, also known as lipid phosphate phosphohydrolase 2b, is a crucial member of the phosphatidic acid phosphatase family, which consists of integral membrane glycoproteins that play a significant role in lipid metabolism and signal transduction. PAP-2b is involved in the dephosphorylation of lipid phosphates, including ceramide 1-phosphate, sphingosine 1-phosphate, phosphatidic acid, and lysophosphatidic acid, thereby influencing various cellular processes such as cell proliferation, migration, and survival. PAP-2b regulates the levels of these bioactive lipids, which are critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to extracellular signals. PAP-2b functions independently of magnesium ions and is resistant to N-ethylmaleimide inhibition, distinguishing PAP-2b from other phosphatases. The presence of three isozymes—PAP-2a, PAP-2b, and PAP-2c—highlights the complexity of lipid signaling pathways, with PAP-2a and PAP-2b being ubiquitously expressed and most effective in hydrolyzing phosphatidic acid and lysophosphatidic acid, while PAP-2c is predominantly found in specific tissues such as the brain and pancreas. Anti-PAP-2b antibody (7H7D3) is an essential tool for researchers studying lipid signaling and its implications in various physiological and pathological processes.
