Pancreatic Polypeptide Antibody (B-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Pancreatic Polypeptide (PP) of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-PP antibody (B-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PP is primarily located in the endocrine F-cells of the pancreatic islets, where PP plays a crucial role in regulating energy homeostasis and appetite. Upon food intake, PP is secreted into the bloodstream, where PP acts as an anorexigenic hormone, signaling satiety and helping to modulate food intake. This localization enables rapid hormonal responses to changes in nutrient availability, thereby influencing metabolic processes. Notably, individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome exhibit a diminished PP response to meals, highlighting PP′s importance in appetite regulation. Furthermore, PP administration has been explored as a potential therapeutic strategy for obesity, as PP can effectively decrease food consumption.
