Paip2 Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Paip2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Paip2 (C-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Paip2, known as PABP-interacting protein, plays a crucial role in translation regulation by competing with Paip1 for binding to polyadenylate-binding protein (PABP). While Paip1 enhances translation, Paip2 acts as a repressor, modulating translation in response to cellular conditions. Paip2′s ability to decrease PABP′s affinity for polyadenylate RNA disrupts poly(A) ribonucleoprotein structure, essential for mRNA stability and translation efficiency. Paip2 contains two distinct PABP binding sites, forming a trimeric structure with one PABP molecule and two Paip2 molecules. The central fragment of Paip2, binding with high affinity to PABP RNA recognition motif, inhibits PABP′s interaction with poly(A) RNA, playing a vital role in gene expression regulation. Human Paip2 gene, located on chromosome 5q31, encodes a 127-amino acid protein, highlighting evolutionary conservation across species.
