PAFAH1B2 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects PAFAH1B2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PAFAH1B2 antibody (E-9) is available as the non-conjugated form. PAFAH1B2, also known as platelet-activating factor acetylhydrolase IB subunit beta or PAFAHB, is a 229 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by inactivating platelet-activating factor (PAF), a potent inflammatory mediator, through the removal of its acetyl group at the sn-2 position. This enzymatic activity is vital for regulating inflammatory responses and maintaining cellular homeostasis, as excessive PAF can lead to pathological conditions such as asthma and cardiovascular diseases. PAFAH1B2 is a key component of the cytosolic PAFAH1 heterotrimeric complex, which also includes alpha and gamma subunits, and is ubiquitously expressed in various tissues, highlighting its importance in diverse biological processes.
