PACRG Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PACRG protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PACRG (C-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PACRG protein, consisting of 257 amino acids, is involved in regulating the ubiquitin/proteasome system, which plays a crucial role in protein degradation and cellular homeostasis. This regulation helps maintain protein turnover balance, essential for cellular function and stress response. PACRG gene is located on chromosome 6q26 and is co-regulated with Parkin gene, sharing a common promoter region, suggesting a coordinated role in cellular processes. PACRG expression has been detected in various human tissues, except placenta, indicating widespread relevance in physiological and potentially pathological contexts. Research has identified significant associations between PACRG and leprosy susceptibility, highlighting a potential role in immune response mechanisms. Possession of specific risk alleles in the regulatory region shared with PARK2 has been shown to be predictive of leprosy, underscoring PACRG′s importance in disease susceptibility and potential as a biomarker for further studies.

Can PACRG (C-8): sc-373851 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. Yes, PACRG (C-8): sc-373851 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
