PA28γ Antibody (47) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PA28 gamma protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). PA28γ (47) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). PA28 gamma protein, also known as REG-gamma, Ki nuclear autoantigen, and Proteasome Activator Complex Subunit 3, plays a crucial role in the immune response as an interferon-gamma inducible proteasome activator, essential for the presentation of certain major histocompatibility class I antigens. PA28γ exhibits a unique distribution within the cell, distinguishing PA28γ from PA28α and PA28β counterparts, which co-localize. This distinct localization may suggest specialized functions for PA28γ, potentially influencing interactions with other proteins in the proteasome complex. The PA28 complex is constitutively expressed in antigen-presenting cells, and PA28 complex downregulation has been linked to abnormal proteasome activation, which could contribute to the development of intimal hyperplasia in various animal models. The PMSE3 gene, which encodes the γ-subunit of the proteasome activator PA28, is located on chromosome 17q12-q21, highlighting the genetic basis for PA28γ′s critical functions in cellular processes.
