PA28β Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PA28 beta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PA28β (G-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PA28 beta protein plays a crucial role as an interferon-γ (IFN-γ) inducible proteasome activator, which is essential for the effective presentation of certain major histocompatibility class I antigens. PA28 beta protein is located in the cytoplasm, where PA28 beta associates with the 20S proteasome to enhance proteolytic activity, thereby facilitating the degradation of ubiquitinated proteins and the generation of peptide fragments for MHC class I presentation. The PA28 complex, composed of PA28α and PA28β subunits, forms a hexameric ring structure that binds to both ends of the proteasome, significantly influencing proteasome function in antigen processing. Notably, PA28β expression is constitutive in antigen-presenting cells, and PA28β downregulation can lead to abnormal proteasome activation, which has been implicated in the development of intimal hyperplasia in various animal models. PA28β protein is also known by other names, including PSME2 and REG-β, highlighting PA28β importance in immune responses and potential implications in various diseases.

Can PA28β (G-10): sc-390563 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Thank you for your question. Yes, PA28β (G-10): sc-390563 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections.
