NSFL1C p47 Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects NSFL1C p47 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NSFL1C p47, also known as p47, UBX1, UBXD10, or UBXN2C, is a 370 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the fragmentation and reassembly of Golgi stacks during mitosis, a process essential for proper cell division and function. NSFL1C p47 is localized to both the nucleus and the Golgi apparatus, specifically within Golgi stacks, and contains one SEP domain and one UBX domain, which are important for interactions with other proteins. NSFL1C p47 forms a ternary complex with VCP, a protein that facilitates the fusion of transport vesicles with their target membranes, and Syntaxin 5. Through this interaction, NSFL1C p47 modulates the ATPase activity of VCP, thereby influencing the dynamics of Golgi structure during cell division. NSFL1C p47 undergoes phosphorylation during mitosis, which is critical as this modification inhibits the interaction between NSFL1C p47 and the Golgi, ensuring proper Golgi stack formation and cisternal regrowth. The high sequence identity of 89% between human NSFL1C p47 and its mouse counterpart underscores the evolutionary conservation of function across species, while the existence of multiple isoforms due to alternative splicing highlights the complexity of regulatory mechanisms.
