P2P-R Antibody (M56) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects P2P-R of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. P2P-R (M56) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. P2P-R, also known as PACT (p53 associated cellular protein-testis derived), plays a crucial role in the regulation of the cell cycle by interacting with key proteins such as p53 and retinoblastoma (Rb). P2P-R has been shown to bind to wildtype p53, inhibiting specific DNA binding capabilities, which is vital for maintaining genomic stability and preventing tumorigenesis. P2P-R interaction with Rb is particularly important as this suggests a mechanism through which P2P-R may influence cell cycle progression and checkpoint regulation. Additionally, RBQ-1 identification, a protein that binds to Rb, highlights the intricate network of protein-protein interactions that govern cellular functions and responses to stress. Understanding these interactions is essential for elucidating pathways involved in cancer development and progression, making anti-P2P-R antibody (M56) a valuable tool for researchers studying these critical processes.

Can P2P-R (M56): sc-9962 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. Yes, P2P-R (M56): sc-9962 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
