p27 Kip1 Antibody (DCS-72) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects p27 Kip1 protein in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p27 Kip1 Antibody (DCS-72) comes in non-conjugated form and various conjugated options, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p27 Kip1 protein regulates cell cycle progression during G1 phase by inhibiting cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks), preventing transition to S phase. This regulation maintains proper cell proliferation and prevents uncontrolled cell growth associated with cancer development. p27 Kip1 functions primarily in the nucleus, interacting with D-type cyclins and Cdk4 to modulate their activity. Various signaling pathways influence p27 Kip1 levels, including transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβ)-activated pathways that can trigger G1 arrest, demonstrating p27 Kip1′s role in cellular stress and damage responses. Using anti-p27 Kip1 antibody (DCS-72) enables researchers to explore cell cycle regulation mechanisms and their implications in cancer biology and therapeutic development.

I am using p27 (DCS-72): sc-56338 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good antibody!1:200 diluted for wb of rat heart protein, the band is strong .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from p27 on zebrafishWe tried p27 DCS72 on zebrafish protein and we see a slight sign on WB, there are some lines if you stain it overnight at 4°C, at a concetration of 1:500, with a secunder ab concentration of 1:000. We would be happy to see more but it is better than if we stain it on RT, and at least it is principially not recommended for zebrafish. There are aspecific lines too.
