p19 ARF Antibody (5-C3-1) is a rat monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects the p19 ARF protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). p19 ARF Antibody (5-C3-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p19 ARF plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle by acting as a tumor suppressor, particularly through interaction with the p53 pathway. p19 ARF is essential for maintaining genomic stability and preventing uncontrolled cell proliferation, which can lead to tumorigenesis. Notably, p19 ARF is derived from an alternative reading frame of the p16 gene, and while distinct from p16, shares the ability to induce cell cycle arrest. Studies show that mice lacking p19 ARF, despite having functional p16, develop tumors at an early age, highlighting p19 ARF′s critical role in cancer prevention. Disruptions in p19 ARF expression have been implicated in a significant percentage of human T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemias, making p19 ARF a vital target for research in cancer biology and therapeutic development.

Which santa CRuz secondary antibody do you recomen for p19 ARF (5-C3-1) detection by western blot? I have not found any anti-rat IgG-HRP.

Asked by: LGonzalez
Thank you for your question. This is a rat monoclonal IgG2b, and we recommend using a secondary antibody that is anti-rat IgG. Unfortunately, we do not currently offer any secondary antibodies specific for detection of rat IgG. Please check back for updates!
