SEE ALSO...

p16 INK4A Antibody (F-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects p16 INK4A of mouse, rat, and human origin through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p16 INK4A monoclonal antibody (F-12) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p16 INK4A (F-12) antibody targets a protein that functions as a negative regulator of the cell cycle, specifically inhibiting cyclin-dependent kinase 4 (Cdk4) activity, which is essential for the transition from G1 phase to S phase of the cell cycle. By binding to Cdk4, p16 INK4A prevents formation of the active Cdk4/cyclin D complex, thereby halting cell proliferation and maintaining cellular integrity. This regulatory function is particularly important in tumor suppression, as p16 INK4A is frequently found to be mutated or deleted in various human cancers, highlighting significance in cancer biology and potential for therapeutic targeting.
