SEE ALSO...

p-Ribosomal Protein S6 Antibody (50.Ser 235/236) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects phosphorylated Ribosomal Protein S6 at Ser 235 and Ser 236 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Ribosomal Protein S6 antibody (50.Ser 235/236) is available in both conjugated and non-conjugated forms, providing versatility for various experimental needs. Ribosomal Protein S6, encoded by the RPS6 gene, plays a crucial role in regulating protein synthesis and cell growth, making RPS6 a key player in cellular responses to growth factors and mitogenic signals. Phosphorylation of RPS6 is particularly important as RPS6 serves as a major substrate for protein kinases in eukaryotic ribosomes, and RPS6 modification is associated with activation of signaling pathways that promote cell proliferation and survival. RPS6 has been shown to interact with several other proteins involved in ribosome biogenesis and translation, including mTOR (mechanistic target of rapamycin), which is a central regulator of cell growth and metabolism. Conservation of RPS6 structure and function across evolutionarily distant species, such as yeast and humans, underscores RPS6′s fundamental role in cellular physiology. Understanding RPS6 phosphorylation dynamics and interactions can provide valuable insights into mechanisms of cancer and other diseases characterized by dysregulated cell growth.
