    SEE ALSO...

P/Q-type Ca++ CP α1A Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects P/Q-type Ca++ CP alpha 1A protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). P/Q-type Ca++ CP α1A (C-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. P/Q-type Ca++ CP alpha 1A protein plays a critical role in voltage-dependent calcium channels, which are essential for mediating calcium entry into excitable cells in response to membrane depolarization. These channels are integral to numerous calcium-dependent processes, such as muscle contraction, hormone and neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. P/Q-type channels are particularly important as these are localized to presynaptic nerve terminals, facilitating rapid synaptic transmission that is finely regulated through interactions with G proteins, SNARE proteins, and various post-translational modifications. An intricate structure including an α-1 subunit, an intracellular β subunit, a disulfide-linked α-2/δ subunit, and a transmembrane γ subunit underscores functional diversity and importance in neuronal signaling.
