p-Met Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that specifically detects Tyr 1365 phosphorylated Met in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-Met (F-5) antibody is offered in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. The c-Met oncogene, from which p-Met is derived, was initially identified through transfection analysis in NIH/3T3 cells from a human osteogenic sarcoma cell line treated with a chemical carcinogen. Met proto-oncogene encodes a transmembrane receptor-like protein with intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity, which is crucial for cell proliferation, survival, and migration. p-Met (F-5) monoclonal antibody recognizes Met protein primarily located on the cell surface, where Met serves as the receptor for hepatocyte growth factor, a key player in liver regeneration and tissue repair. The interaction between Met and hepatocyte growth factor is vital for mediating cellular responses to injury and promoting tissue regeneration, highlighting Met′s importance in both normal physiology and cancer progression. Aberrant tyrosine phosphorylation of Met has been implicated in the pathogenesis of several cancers, including gastric carcinoma, where phosphorylation enhances receptor activity, further emphasizing Met′s relevance in oncogenic signaling pathways.
