p-GSK-3α Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Ser 21 phosphorylated GSK-3α in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-p-GSK-3α antibody (E-2) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile experimental use. Glycogen synthase kinase-3α (GSK-3α) plays a crucial role in various cellular processes, including regulation of metabolic enzymes and transcription factors essential for glycogen synthesis and cell adhesion. GSK-3α is primarily located in the cytoplasm but can translocate to the nucleus, where GSK-3α influences gene expression and cellular responses to growth factors. This localization enables GSK-3α to participate in signaling pathways that regulate cell proliferation and survival. GSK-3α interacts with several key proteins, including cAMP-dependent protein kinase A, which phosphorylates GSK-3α at Ser 21, leading to inactivation and modulation of downstream signaling pathways. GSK-3α phosphorylation state determines activity and influence on various biological processes, including energy metabolism and neuronal development. Understanding GSK-3α localization and interactions is vital for elucidating roles in health and disease, particularly in cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
