SEE ALSO...

p-c-Jun Antibody (KM-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects c-Jun protein phosphorylated on Serine 63 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). p-c-Jun (KM-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. c-Jun protein plays a crucial role in cellular processes, acting as a key component of transcription factor AP-1, which regulates gene expression in response to various stimuli, including growth factors and stress signals. This regulation is vital for processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, making c-Jun a significant player in oncogenesis and cellular response to external signals. c-Jun forms heterodimers with Fos proteins to enhance transcriptional activity, allowing for a more robust response to environmental cues. Additionally, phosphorylation of c-Jun at Serine 63 is a critical modification that enhances transcriptional activity, linking to various signaling pathways, including those activated by Ras. Understanding c-Jun dynamics and interactions is essential for elucidating mechanisms underlying many cellular functions and disease states.

My results always show multiple bands (2-3) for p-c-Jun even though there is only 1 stated MW of 39kDa, may I know if it is due to unspecific binding or presence of isomers?

Is there any data to support the fact that this antibody is specific for phosphorylated c-Jun?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, in Western Blot we see upregulation of signal after the sample is treated with UV radiation, and downregulation of signal following treatment with lambda phosphatase.

What is the recommended blocking buffer to use with this antibody in Western Blot?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. When detecting phosphorylated proteins in Western Blot, we recommend using Blotto B as the blocking buffer, sc-2335.
