OX2 Antibody (OX2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects OX2 in mouse and rat samples through applications such as immunofluorescence (IF), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OX2, also known as CD200, is a critical member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, functioning as a cell surface glycoprotein that plays a significant role in modulating immune responses. This 248-residue protein is predominantly expressed in lymphoid cells, neurons, and endothelial tissues, where OX2 interacts with OX2R. The interaction between OX2 and OX2R is essential for maintaining immune homeostasis, as OX2 helps to suppress excessive macrophage activation and limit inflammatory damage in tissues. Notably, OX2R is characterized by a high degree of N-linked glycosylation, which accounts for up to 70% of its molecular weight, influencing OX2R stability and interactions within the immune system. The cytoplasmic domain of OX2R contains NPXY motifs that facilitate binding to specific protein domains, further underscoring the importance of this interaction in regulating immune responses.
