SEE ALSO...

OTX1 Antibody (3A5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects OTX1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-OTX1 antibody (3A5) is available as the non-conjugated format. OTX1 plays a crucial role in brain development, particularly in corticogenesis, sensory organ development, and pituitary functions. OTX1 is essential for the induction, specification, and regionalization of the brain, working alongside OTX2 to ensure proper brain patterning through a dosage-dependent mechanism. Precise regulation of OTX1 levels influences the positioning of the isthmic region and anterior brain patterning, which are critical for the formation of functional neural structures. OTX1 and OTX2 are necessary for the correct specification of the neuroectoderm, which ultimately gives rise to the fore-midbrain. OTX1 and OTX2 genes are located on human chromosomes 2p13 and 14q21-q22, respectively, highlighting their evolutionary conservation and importance in vertebrate development.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with OTX1 (3A5): sc-517000 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
