SEE ALSO...

OSM Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OSM protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-OSM antibody (A-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Oncostatin M (OSM) is a glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in regulating cell growth and differentiation, particularly in inflammation and cancer. OSM was initially isolated from the conditioned medium of U937 human histiocytic leukemia cells that had been induced to differentiate into macrophage-like cells. OSM inhibits the growth of a wide range of human tumor cell lines while sparing normal human fibroblasts, highlighting OSM′s potential as a therapeutic target in oncology. OSM interacts with high-affinity binding sites on both normal and tumor cells, and OSM expression is significantly elevated in activated monocytic and lymphocytic cell lines, as well as in normal adherent macrophages. Notably, OSM shares structural homology with other important cytokines such as leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), and interleukin 6 (IL-6), all of which are pivotal in modulating the growth and differentiation of various cell types, particularly those of hematopoietic origin. OSM′s ability to influence these processes underscores OSM′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states, making OSM monoclonal antibody (A-9) a valuable tool for researchers studying OSM′s diverse roles in cellular signaling and immune responses.
