OSBP Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OSBP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OSBP (A-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and signal transduction, particularly in the transport of sterols from lysosomes to the nucleus. This transport is vital as OSBP regulates the expression of genes involved in cholesterol synthesis, such as HMG synthetase, HMG-CoA reductase, and the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR). OSBP is predominantly localized in the cytosol and is widely expressed across various tissues, while OSBP2 is primarily found in the testis, retina, and fetal liver.
