SEE ALSO...

ORC2 Antibody (3G6) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects ORC2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-ORC2 antibody (3G6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ORC2 is a critical component of the origin recognition complex (ORC), which is essential for the initiation of DNA replication. ORC2 plays a vital role in forming pre-replication complexes necessary for accurate and timely genome replication. ORC2, along with other ORC subunits, binds to specific origins of replication in proliferating cell nuclei, serving as a scaffold for additional initiation factor assembly. While ORC1 and ORC2 are expressed at similar levels throughout the cell cycle, ORC2 uniquely remains stably bound to chromatin, highlighting ORC2′s importance in maintaining replication process integrity. ORC2′s interaction with other ORC proteins, such as ORC3, ORC4, and ORC5, to form a core complex is crucial for G1-S transition in mammalian cells, underscoring ORC2′s role in cell cycle regulation and potential implications in cancer biology.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-32734 X be used instead of the standard form sc-32734?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
