    SEE ALSO...

OR5T1 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects OR5T1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-OR5T1 antibody (G-2) is available as a non-conjugated isotype antibody. OR5T1, also known as olfactory receptor 5T1 or OR11-179, is a 326 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the olfactory system by interacting with odorant molecules to initiate neuronal responses, ultimately leading to the perception of smell. OR5T1 is part of the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family and shares a seven transmembrane domain structure with many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors, highlighting its importance in sensory signal transduction. The gene encoding OR5T1 is located on human chromosome 11q12.1, which houses over 1,400 genes and comprises nearly 4% of the human genome. Defects in genes mapping to this chromosome are associated with various syndromes, including Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome and Jacobsen syndrome, underscoring the significance of olfactory receptors in human health. The OR5T1 gene is part of the largest gene family in the genome, emphasizing the complexity and diversity of olfactory signaling pathways.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398550 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
