    SEE ALSO...

OR56B1 Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects OR56B1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-OR56B1 antibody (E-9) is available as the non-conjugated form. OR56B1 , also known as olfactory receptor 56B1 or OR11-65, is a 324 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the olfactory system by interacting with odorant molecules in the nasal epithelium. This interaction initiates a neuronal response that leads to the perception of smell, making olfactory receptors essential for sensory processing. OR56B1 belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family and shares a seven transmembrane domain structure with many neurotransmitter and hormone receptors, highlighting its importance in signal transduction. The gene encoding OR56B1 is located on human chromosome 11p15.4, which houses over 1,400 genes and comprises nearly 4% of the human genome. Defects in genes mapping to this chromosome have been associated with various syndromes, including Jervell and Lange-Nielsen syndrome and Jacobsen syndrome, underscoring the significance of olfactory receptors in both health and disease.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-515497 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen.
