    SEE ALSO...

Opticin Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects opticin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-opticin antibody (F-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Opticin, also known as OPTC or OPT, is a 332 amino acid secreted protein characterized by the presence of seven leucine-rich repeats (LRRs), which are crucial for structural integrity and function. These LRRs form a hydrophobic α/β horseshoe fold, allowing opticin to effectively bind collagen fibrils within the extracellular matrix. This interaction is vital for regulating collagen fibril spacing, morphology, and organization, which are essential for maintaining the structural integrity of tissues, particularly in ocular regions such as the retina, cornea, and iris. Additionally, opticin undergoes post-translational O-glycosylation, a modification that may influence function and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of primary open-angle glaucoma. With diverse applications and critical role in tissue organization, opticin monoclonal antibody (F-2) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying extracellular matrix dynamics and related ocular conditions.
