Odf1 Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Odf1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Odf1 (E-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Odf1 protein plays a crucial role in the structural integrity of the outer dense fibers (ODF) in the mammalian sperm tail, which are essential for maintaining sperm elasticity and motility. These fibers are located outside the axoneme and are vital for the passive elastic properties and recoil of the sperm tail, which are necessary for effective swimming. ODFs are composed of a complex array of proteins, with Odf1 being one of the major components, alongside Odf2 and Odf3, all of which are predominantly expressed during spermiogenesis. Human Odf1 gene is located on chromosome 8q22, while Odf2 is found on chromosome 9q34, and both genes are exclusively expressed in the testis. Notably, Odf2 interacts with Odf1 through leucine zipper motifs, facilitating the assembly of the outer dense fibers, and Odf1 is also capable of self-interaction. Given their critical roles in sperm structure and function, abnormalities in Odf proteins may contribute to male infertility due to flagellar dysfunction, highlighting the importance of studying these proteins in reproductive biology.

Ich suche nach anti ODF1 Antikörpern von Santa Cruz (sc-27907 und sc-23132) die ich nicht finde. Gab es diese AK oder gibt es sie noch?

Asked by: Vito2
Thank you for your question. These two polyclonal antibodies c-27907 and sc-23132 were discontinued in 2016. We now offer the monoclonal Odf1 Antibody (E-11): sc-390152 as an excellent and reliable alternative.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-390152 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
