Oatp2 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Oatp2 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Oatp2 antibody (A-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Oatp2 protein, also known as Slc21a5 or Slco1a4, plays a crucial role in hepatic uptake of organic anions, including cardiac glycosides, which are vital for regulating heart function. Oatp2 is predominantly expressed in liver and brain, facilitating sodium-independent transport of important steroid conjugates such as dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate and estradiol-17-glucuronide. Oatp2 is localized to basolateral membrane of hepatocytes, where Oatp2 is essential for liver′s ability to extract these compounds from bloodstream. Expression of Oatp2 can be influenced by various factors, including inducers like phenobarbital, which enhances liver′s capacity to uptake cardiac glycosides. Oatp2 is involved in transport of taurocholic acid and other significant molecules, including adrenal androgen dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate and cholesterol-lowering drug pravastatin, highlighting Oatp2′s importance in both drug metabolism and physiological processes.

To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Oatp2 in mouse liver WCLConditions: 60 ug protein/lane, 10% gel, no BME dye. Primary concentration, 1:250, incubated at 4C overnight. Secondary concentration, 1:10k, incubated 1 hr at RT. Picture taken with ChemiDoc imager using femto substrate. Strong band appears at about 100 kDa. However, there also appears to be some strong nonspecific bands below 70 kDa.
