NSUN5 Antibody (H-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NSUN5 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NSUN5 (H-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NSUN5, also known as NOL1, p120, or NOL1R, is a 429 amino acid protein that belongs to the methyltransferase superfamily and is expressed ubiquitously, with particularly high levels in the heart, placenta, and skeletal muscle. NSUN5 functions as an S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent methyltransferase, essential for various cellular processes, including RNA modification and gene regulation. Absence of NSUN5 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of Williams syndrome, highlighting its importance in normal development and function. NSUN5 undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, likely mediated by ATM or ATR, which can influence activity and interactions within the cell. The gene encoding NSUN5 is located on human chromosome 7, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including Osteogenesis imperfecta and Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, underscoring the significance of NSUN5 in human health and disease.

Can the antibody be used for IHC-P ?

Asked by: hhhhhhhh11
Thank you for your question. We have not yet tested this antibody, NSUN5 (H-10): sc-376147, on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections and so the antibody is not recommended for IHC(P) at this time.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with NSUN5 (H-10): sc-376147 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
