SEE ALSO...

NRSF Antibody (F-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NRSF protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-NRSF antibody (F-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NRSF protein, also known as neuron-restrictive silencer factor or RE1-silencing transcription factor, plays a crucial role in regulating gene expression by binding to the neuron-restrictive silencer element (NRSE) in non-neuronal cells, thereby repressing neuronal gene transcription. This function is vital for maintaining the identity of non-neuronal cells and preventing premature neuronal differentiation. NRSF is predominantly expressed in non-neural tissues but is also found in developing neurons and at lower levels in the brain, highlighting its importance in both neural and non-neural contexts. Structurally, NRSF contains nine zinc-finger domains, which are essential for DNA-binding capability, and can exist in a truncated form known as REST4, produced through alternative splicing. While REST4 retains some functionality, REST4 binds DNA weakly and is still transported to the nucleus, indicating a complex regulatory mechanism. The interaction of NRSF with corepressors such as mSin3 and histone deacetylases (HDAC) suggests involvement in broader regulatory networks beyond the nervous system. Down-regulation of NRSF during neural differentiation is critical for proper development of specific neuronal classes, underscoring NRSF′s role as a key regulator in both embryonic development and neurogenesis.

Hello, I'm inquiring regarding your antibody anti-NRSF (F-3): sc-374611. Your previous anti-NRSF (H-29): sc‐25398 is well published but sadly discontinued. H-290 was published to be mouse reactive. Is F-3 also mouse reactive? Were immunogens the same?

Asked by: Joe G
Thank you for your question. NRSF (F-3) has only been recommended for human. There is a 86%homology in mice and we only warranty a species if the homology is 95% or higher .

Can the TransCruz reagent sc-374611 X be used for applications other than ChIP?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, the X form can be used for any listed application such as Western Blot or IF, the dilution just needs to be adjusted as the X form is ten times as concentrated as the standard antibody.

NRSF(F-3)抗体WB实验结果显示,只在55kDa处有两条相邻条带,并未出现在说明书标明的116kDa位置上。请问为什么目的蛋白的分子量为什么不一致?

Asked by: XingFangzhou
Thank you for your question. Sometimes actual band size observed may differ from predicted band size. Common factors include: splice variants, pro-peptide, post-translation cleavage and relative charge. You are welcome to contact our Technical Service to discuss your outcome.
