Nrl Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Nrl protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Nrl antibody (F-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nrl protein, or neural retina leucine zipper, is a crucial transcription factor belonging to the Maf family, characterized by a highly conserved basic leucine zipper (bZIP) DNA-binding motif. Nrl plays a vital role in retinal cell development and function, particularly promoting rhodopsin expression, a key protein in photoreceptor cells essential for vision. Nrl achieves this by binding to the Nrl response element within the rhodopsin promoter, thereby regulating gene expression critical for phototransduction. Nrl is expressed throughout the developing central and peripheral nervous systems during neuronal differentiation, with expression later becoming restricted to specific neuronal populations in the neocortex, brainstem, and retina during adulthood. Nrl′s ability to form heterodimers with other transcription factors, such as Fos and Jun, further underscores Nrl′s importance in the intricate regulatory networks governing retinal development and function.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Nrl (F-2): sc-374277?

Asked by: AbPolly
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nrl F-2 antibody IF on mouse retinaI have tested Nrl "F2" antibody on cryostat and paraffin-embedded sections of 1 month-old C57Bl/6 and Nrl -/- retina at dilutions from 1:25 to 1:1000, with or without antigen retrieval. I see no reactivity in outer nuclear layer cells under any conditions tested, although inner segments show slight reactivity. Details: antibody lot #D2116; antigen retrieval 10 min at 95-100 degrees C (paraffin) or overnight at 60 degrees C (cryosections); blocked in 10% goat serum; primary antibody incubation overnight at 4 degrees C (paraffin and cryosections) or 2 hours at RT (cryostat sections); Alexa-488-coupled goat anti-mouse secondary antibody incubation 2 hours at RT.
