NQO2 Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NQO2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NQO2 antibody (A-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NQO2, also known as NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase 2, plays a crucial role in cellular defense by catalyzing the reduction of quinones to hydroquinones, thereby detoxifying potentially harmful compounds and protecting cells from oxidative stress, cytotoxicity, and mutagenicity. This 231 amino acid protein is an isozyme of NQO1, differing in its cofactor requirement as NQO2 utilizes dihydronicotinamide riboside (NRH) instead of NAD(P)H, and exhibits unique resistance to common NQO1 inhibitors while being susceptible to quercetin and benzo(a)pyrene. NQO2 is widely expressed across various tissues, with particularly high levels in the liver and testis, and NQO2 expression is induced by environmental toxins such as TCDD. Additionally, NQO2 contains a specific metal binding site and several regulatory elements in its promoter region, which are essential for expression and function, highlighting NQO2′s importance in cellular responses to oxidative stress and potential therapeutic targets in diseases associated with oxidative damage.
