    SEE ALSO...

NPT1 Antibody (4B4D1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects NPT1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NPT1 (4B4D1) antibody is available as a non-conjugated anti-NPT1 monoclonal isotype antibody. NPT1 protein, also known as sodium-dependent phosphate transport protein, is a crucial member of the organic anion transporter family, specifically the SLC17A subfamily. NPT1 is predominantly expressed in the kidney, where NPT1 plays a vital role in the transport of small organic anions, such as para-aminohippurate (PAH), and is also found in the liver and brain. NPT1 is localized to the apical membrane of renal proximal tubular cells, functioning as a voltage-driven organic anion/chloride exchanger, which is essential for maintaining phosphate homeostasis in the body. NPT1 expression is intricately controlled by transcription factors HNF-1α and HNF-3β, highlighting NPT1′s importance in renal function and metabolic processes. NPT1 activity can be inhibited by compounds such as indomethacin and salicylate, which can have implications for drug interactions and therapeutic strategies.
