NPAS1 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NPAS1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NPAS1 (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NPAS1, known as neuronal PAS domain protein 1, is a crucial transcription factor that plays a significant role in regulating gene expression in response to environmental stimuli, particularly in the brain. NPAS1 is composed of 590 amino acids and exhibits 86% sequence homology with mouse counterpart, Npas1. A key aspect of NPAS1′s function is requiring dimer formation with another basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) protein to effectively bind to DNA, which is essential for modulating various biological processes. NPAS1 interacts with aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator (ARNT), and expression is predominantly observed in brain tissue, highlighting importance in neurological functions. NPAS1 is implicated in regulatory pathways associated with schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, and may influence late central nervous system development by modulating erythropoietin expression in response to cellular oxygen levels. NPAS1 gene is located on human chromosome 19q13.32, underscoring relevance in genetic studies related to neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions.
