SEE ALSO...

nov Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects nov protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-nov antibody (D-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. nov protein, also known as nephroblastoma overexpressed, CCN3, or NOVH, plays a crucial role in regulating cellular processes, particularly in tissues where calcium is a significant factor, such as the adrenal gland, central nervous system, bone and cartilage, heart muscle, and kidney. nov protein functions as a negative regulator of cell growth, providing a counterbalance to the positive regulatory effects of other members of the CCN family, such as Cyr61 and CTGF. Aberrant expression of nov has been linked to tumor development, highlighting nov protein′s potential as a biomarker for certain cancers. nov protein interacts with the Notch1 extracellular domain, inhibiting myoblast differentiation through the Notch signaling pathway, which is vital for muscle development and regeneration. The gene encoding nov is located on human chromosome 8q24.12 and was initially identified due to nov protein′s overexpression in virally induced nephroblastoma, making nov a significant focus of research in cancer biology and developmental processes.

Can nov (D-9): sc-136967 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, nov (D-9): sc-136967 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
