Nop2p Antibody (22G1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Nop2p of S. cerevisiae origin by western blotting (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Nop2p antibody (22G1) is available as the non-conjugated format. Nop2p plays a crucial role in maintaining nucleolar structure and is involved in processing ribosomal RNA, which is essential for ribosome biogenesis. Located primarily in the nucleolus, Nop2p is associated with small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein particles, which are vital for the modification and maturation of pre-rRNA. Nop2p is not only important for the structural integrity of the nucleolus but also functions as an RNA methyltransferase, influencing the methylation of rRNA and thereby impacting ribosome assembly and function. Additionally, Nop2p shares significant homology with human p120, a nucleolar antigen that is often overexpressed in various cancers, highlighting its potential relevance in cancer biology and therapeutic research. Nop2p (22G1) antibody effectively detects this protein, making Nop2p monoclonal antibody (22G1) a valuable tool for researchers studying ribosomal biogenesis and nucleolar function in S. cerevisiae.
