Nop25 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Nop25 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Nop25 (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Nop25, also known as NOL12 (nucleolar protein 12), consists of 213 amino acids and is primarily localized in the nucleolus, where Nop25 is believed to interact with 28S rRNA. This interaction is crucial as Nop25 plays a significant role in the processing of ribosomal RNA molecules and the subsequent assembly and maturation of ribosomes, which are essential for protein synthesis in all living cells. The gene encoding Nop25 is located on human chromosome 22, a region that contains over 500 genes and is associated with various genetic disorders, including Phelan-McDermid syndrome, Neurofibromatosis type 2, autism, and schizophrenia. Furthermore, chromosomal translocations involving chromosome 22 can lead to the formation of the Philadelphia Chromosome, resulting in the production of the BCR-Abl fusion protein, a potent activator of cell proliferation implicated in several types of leukemia.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-374257 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
