NOP17 Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects NOP17 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NOP17, also known as PIH1D1, plays a crucial role in pre-ribosomal RNA processing by associating with small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs) during ribosomal biogenesis, essential for ribosome production and protein synthesis in all living cells. NOP17 is primarily located in the nucleolus, forming part of ribonucleoprotein particles critical for snoRNP assembly and function. Proper nucleolar localization of NOP17 ensures efficient rRNA processing and modification, necessary for functional ribosome formation. NOP17 is a 290 amino acid unstable protein requiring interaction with heat shock proteins HSP 90α/β for stabilization, highlighting protein-protein interactions in maintaining cellular functions. Mutations in NOP17 can lead to temperature-sensitive phenotypes and disrupt essential protein localization in snoRNP assembly, emphasizing NOP17′s significance in ribosomal biogenesis and cellular homeostasis.
