Nop132 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Nop132 protein of human origin and NOL8 protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Nop132 antibody (D-7) is available as the non-conjugated form. Nop132, also known as NOL8 (nucleolar protein 8), is a 1,167 amino acid nuclear protein characterized by one RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain and exists in four alternatively spliced isoforms. Nop132 plays a crucial role in regulating post-transcriptional gene expression and ribosome biogenesis, particularly in diffuse-type gastric cancer, where Nop132 is essential for cancer cell survival. While Nop132 shows low expression in skeletal muscle, Nop132 expression significantly increases in diffuse-type gastric cancers, highlighting potential use as a biomarker for this malignancy. Nop132 interacts with several key proteins, including NIP7 and GTP-bound forms of Rag A/B, Rag C, and Rag D, which are involved in cellular signaling pathways that regulate nutrient sensing and mTOR signaling. The Nop132 gene spans approximately 28,237 bases on human chromosome 9q22.31, a region housing over 900 genes and implicated in various genetic disorders, including hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia and familial dysautonomia. Chromosome 9 contains the largest cluster of interferon family genes, underscoring importance in immune response regulation.
