NOD2 Antibody (2D9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the NOD2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. NOD2 (2D9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The NOD2 protein plays a crucial role in the immune response by recognizing bacterial components and activating signaling pathways that lead to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. This function is vital for the host′s defense against infections, particularly in the gut, where NOD2 helps maintain intestinal homeostasis and prevent inflammatory diseases such as Crohn′s disease. Structurally, NOD2 consists of two N-terminal caspase recruitment domains, a central nucleotide-binding domain, and multiple C-terminal leucine-rich repeats, which facilitate interaction with other proteins in the signaling cascade. NOD2 expression is predominantly found in monocytes, and NFκB activation in response to bacterial lipopolysaccharides underscores NOD2′s importance in innate immunity.
