Nocturnin Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects Nocturnin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Nocturnin antibody (F-4) is available as the non-conjugated form. Nocturnin (CCRN4L or NOC) is a 431 amino acid circadian deadenylase that plays a crucial role in regulating circadian rhythms and is predominantly expressed in the liver, kidney, and testis. Nocturnin (F-4) antibody targets a protein involved in post-transcriptional regulation of mRNA, specifically by controlling the stability and degradation of mRNAs associated with circadian regulation. Nocturnin mRNA levels exhibit a circadian rhythm, peaking after dusk in various tissues, including photoreceptors, spleen, heart, kidney, and liver, indicating a role in synchronizing biological processes with the day-night cycle. Studies have shown that Nocturnin downregulates genes involved in circadian regulation, and rhythmic expression is modulated by phosphorylated CREB in Xenopus retinal photoreceptor cells. Mice deficient in Nocturnin remain lean even on high-fat diets, suggesting a significant role in lipid metabolism and fat storage, highlighting potential implications in obesity and metabolic disorders.
