SEE ALSO...

NMDAε4 Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects NMDA epsilon 4 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-NMDAε4 antibody (G-10) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NMDA epsilon 4 protein, also known as glutamate ionotropic receptor NMDA type subunit 2D, plays a crucial role in synaptic plasticity and memory function, making this protein essential for cognitive processes. Located primarily in the postsynaptic membrane of neurons, NMDA receptors, including the epsilon 4 subunit, are activated by the binding of glutamate and glycine, allowing calcium ions to flow into the cell. This influx of calcium is vital for various intracellular signaling pathways that influence synaptic strength and neuronal survival. The unique structure of NMDA receptors, which includes a combination of different subunits, allows for diverse functional properties and regulatory mechanisms, highlighting NMDAε4′s importance in both normal brain function and in the pathophysiology of neurological disorders.

Can NMDAε4 (G-10): sc-17822 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Yes, NMDAε4 (G-10): sc-17822 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
