NF-1 Antibody (F-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects NF-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NF-1, also known as CTF, is a crucial member of the CCAAT box binding protein family, playing a significant role in stimulating DNA replication and activating transcription. NF-1 binds to specific DNA elements as a homodimer, utilizing an amino-terminal DNA binding domain, and activates transcription through a unique proline-rich carboxy-terminal transactivation domain. NF-1 interacts with the adenovirus type 2 promoter and participates in transcriptional activation of herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase genes. The consensus element recognized by NF-1 is present in upstream promoter regions of numerous eukaryotic genes, including Ha-Ras, α-globin, HSP 70, GRP 78, Histone H1, and myelin basic protein, as well as in the Xenopus laevis vitellogenin gene promoter. The versatility of anti-NF-1 antibody (F-2) in regulating gene expression makes this antibody an essential tool for researchers studying transcriptional regulation and its implications in various biological contexts.
