Neurexin Iα Antibody (17) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects neurexin I alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-neurexin I alpha antibody (17) is available as a non-conjugated format. Neurexins are critical neuronal cell surface proteins that play a vital role in synaptic function and plasticity, with neurexin I (NRXN1) being one of the most studied members of this family. Neurexin I alpha protein is primarily located at the presynaptic membrane, where interactions with neuroligins and other synaptic partners facilitate synapse formation and maintenance. This localization is crucial for proper neuronal communication, as synaptic structural and functional integrity helps establish essential neurotransmission and overall brain function. Additionally, neurexin I alpha undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in multiple isoforms that can differentially regulate synaptic signaling pathways. Binding to various ligands, including neurexophilins and α-latrotoxin, further underscores neurexin I alpha′s importance in synaptic transmission and modulation of synaptic strength. Understanding neurexin I alpha′s role in synaptic dynamics can provide insights into neurodevelopmental disorders and neurodegenerative diseases, making neurexin I alpha antibody (17) a valuable tool for researchers studying these critical processes.

I am using neurexin Iα (17): sc-136001 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
