Neu Antibody (9G6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody raised against human Neu (ErbB-2/HER2), a crucial member of the epidermal growth factor receptor family of receptor tyrosine kinases. Neu mouse monoclonal antibody (9G6) recognizes an epitope within the Neu immunogen sequence and demonstrates specificity for human samples through Western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM) applications. Anti-Neu monoclonal antibody (9G6) is available in non-conjugated form for experimental flexibility. Neu′s sophisticated function depends on precise localization to the cell membrane, where Neu regulates complex signaling networks controlling cell growth, differentiation, and survival. A particularly significant aspect of Neu′s function involves forming heterodimers with other EGFR family members, especially ErbB-3. These heterodimer complexes amplify signaling pathways, including the phosphoinositide 3-kinase cascade, which can promote tumor cell motility and invasion when dysregulated. The clinical significance of Neu becomes evident in breast cancer, where Neu amplification or overexpression occurs in 20-30% of carcinomas, often correlating with more aggressive disease progression. This prevalent involvement in cancer biology makes Neu both an important prognostic biomarker and a critical therapeutic target. Through these diverse cellular roles and clinical implications, Neu (9G6) antibody provides researchers with a valuable tool for investigating cancer mechanisms and developing targeted treatments.
