netrin G1 Antibody (D-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects netrin G1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-netrin G1 antibody (D-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Netrin G1, along with netrin G2, plays a crucial role as a membrane-bound axon guidance molecule, essential for synaptic formation and maintenance. These proteins are part of the UNC-6/netrin family and have been implicated in neurodevelopmental disorders, including schizophrenia, due to their association with single nucleotide polymorphisms. While both proteins are expressed in the brain, netrin G1 is predominantly found in the thalamus, whereas netrin G2 is primarily expressed in the cortex. Notably, netrin G1 is distinguished from classical netrins by lacking binding to netrin receptors, having a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol membrane anchor, and generating multiple isoforms, with at least nine identified in the adult brain. Isoforms G1a, c, d, and e are also present in the fetal brain, with G1c and G1d being the most abundantly expressed. Netrin G1′s functional significance extends to involvement in NMDA receptor activity, suggesting a potential role in various neurological conditions such as Rett syndrome, atypical autism, epilepsy, and mental retardation.
