NEIL1 Antibody (D-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NEIL1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-NEIL1 antibody (D-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NEIL1, also known as Endonuclease VIII-like 1, plays a crucial role in repairing oxidative DNA damage, which is vital for maintaining genomic stability and preventing mutations that can lead to cancer. As a member of the FPG family of proteins, NEIL1 functions as a DNA glycosylase, recognizing and excising damaged bases to create abasic sites that can be further processed by other repair mechanisms. NEIL1 is ubiquitously expressed and shows increased expression during the S-phase of the cell cycle, highlighting its importance in DNA repair during DNA replication. In contrast, NEIL2 and NEIL3 exhibit more restricted expression patterns, with NEIL2 primarily found in the testis, heart, skeletal muscle, placenta, brain, kidney, and liver, while NEIL3 is predominantly detected in the thymus and testis. NEIL1′s ability to interact with other proteins involved in DNA repair pathways underscores its significance in cellular responses to DNA damage, making NEIL1 (D-1) monoclonal antibody an essential tool for researchers studying DNA repair mechanisms and their implications in disease.
