SEE ALSO...

NDUFS8 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects NDUFS8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). NDUFS8 (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. NDUFS8, also known as NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] iron-sulfur protein 8, plays a crucial role as a subunit of mitochondrial complex I, which is essential for the electron transport chain in oxidative phosphorylation. This complex is responsible for the oxidation of NADH generated during the Krebs cycle, facilitating the transfer of electrons to ubiquinone and ultimately contributing to ATP production and cellular energy metabolism. Proper functioning of NDUFS8 is vital, as defects in this protein can lead to severe clinical conditions, including Leigh syndrome, characterized by necrotic lesions in the brain. With its 210 amino acid structure, NDUFS8 is integral to the catalytic activity of complex I, and understanding NDUFS8 interactions and modifications is key to unraveling the complexities of mitochondrial dysfunction and associated myopathies and neuropathies.
